Halfway through the year.
On my mind:
I’ve been thinking about the way change happens. When we enact it deliberately…and when it is more an accumulation of slow shifts, not overt turns. My life has largely been about the latter; when vibes are off, jump ship.
But lately…I’m sensing a different kind of loosening. It’s not surrender or permission. It’s like unfolding a piece of paper, revealing something already there.
I bought George Ohsawa’s book on Macrobiotics (“An Invitation to Health And Happiness,” ca. 1971) last month at a used bookstore on the San Juan Islands.
Ohsawa’s philosophy centered around removing cluttering distractions by way of specific simplifications; putting boundaries on choice in the name of a higher quality, happier life.
