5 things that are currently front of mind—flu edition!
Attention Inventory is a list of 5 things that are currently front of mind.
I got taken down this week by a flu that was more like …an exorcism? I’ve spent the better part of 4 days in a fugue state: shuffling around my house like a Victorian ghost, wearing one sock and begging for miracles from bone broth.
Thus, in this week’s Attention Inventory, we go back to basics. Low-stakes delights, inconsequential rituals, enveloping distractions, et al. We are not built for this world!
Let’s proceed…

1. Blank Pages
I started a new notebook at the beginning of the year, but…it just felt off. So I shelved it and thought, let’s try this again.
Here’s the current combo of writing/journaling tools I’m enjoying:
I mentioned discovering this Midori notebook last year, but I must reiterate and confirm it’s an exceptional option for a notebook that lays flat, is a good size (twice the page count of a typical Midori), and is $20.
I’ve been alternating between the above and these “light” versions for daily note-taking and work projects. I like the larger A4 format when I want a lot of real estate on the page to explore ideas; these feel like something an architect might use.
I got these felt-tip pens in Tokyo, and I LOVE them. They err more on the side of marker than pen, but they write smoothly with no ink bleeding. Also, not not overlook that they managed to integrate FIVE different typefaces into the design of one single pen (…but it somehow makes perfect sense to me and I think it’s very chic).
2. In-Flight Rituals
